Get to know Me
Welcome to Compass of Compassion,
I’m Melyssa, a multi-certified energy medicine practitioner, trauma-informed breathwork facilitator and the soul-guided founder of this sacred space for healing. This work isn’t just something I do. It’s who I am.
For instance, some of my gifts have been with me since childhood like my sensitivity, knowing and communication with my ancestors, most strongly with my paternal Grandfather. Visits with Mother Mary were very meaningful for me. I connected with her as a young child for healing and to help me understand what unconditional love is. Over time, I’ve studied, explored, and deepened my gifts through formal training and my own lived experience. I’ve walked through deep loss, grief, tragedy, and the unraveling of who I thought I was. Holistic healing that encompassed my mind, body and soul allowed me to I come back to myself. Stronger. Softer. More alive.
The Heart of My Experience:
Now, I walk beside others, supporting them through the same process of reconnection. People who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or out of alignment. Those who crave spiritual clarity, energetic relief, or just a safe space to breathe and be witnessed as the wonderful loving soul they are.
At Compass of Compassion, you are invited to join Spirit to Navigate your Soul Wellness with guidance, warmth, and care. We work together to undo emotional patterns, reconnect you to your inner compass, and open ways to true healing on every level: physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual.
My Path & Training:
My passion for healing is grounded in both study and sacred experience:
Bachelor of Science [2003] with dual majors in Business Management and Sociology.
Usui Reiki - I & II [2012] — where I began channeling Ki (life force energy) for subtle, restorative healing.
Advanced ThetaHealing® [2014] — a spiritual technology for transforming limiting beliefs, ancestral wounds, and soul patterns through deep intuitive connection with God/Spirit. I have completed extensive training in Theta covering years, courses and many hours of practice. Theta Healing helped heal part of my soul while I moved through active trauma. I am grateful for the relief I experienced and continue to receive from this modality.
The Reconnection Method — intuitive energy work that helps move, modify and massage your subtle energy bodies.
Munay-Ki Initiation [2021] — 10 energetic rites rooted in Peruvian shamanic tradition, passed to heal karmic and ancestral imprints and invite a deeper relationship with the Earth, energetics and the sacredness of natural rhythms.
220-Hour Kundalini Yoga [2018] - Certification with KRI as a Registered Yoga Teacher [RYT] with Yoga Alliance. I learned all about chakras and pranayama which deepened my interest and felt sense of energetics.
42-Hour Certification in the Beyond Addiction Program - The Yogic Path to Recovery (co-developed with Dr. Gabor Maté) [2019] — focused on healing addiction through yoga, meditation, nutrition, somatic awareness and nervous system repair.
700+ hours of personal sadhana practice in breathwork, mantra, meditation, and chanting, deepening my personal and professional understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection. Here my passion for the breath and pranayama was created, cultivated and nurtured.
Trauma-Informed Revelation Breathwork Certification [2025] — a dynamic breath-based healing practice that helps unlock emotion, restore energy flow for integration, and bring safety back to the body and spirit. This practice has created safety within me, allowing for a greater connection to my energy, intuition and self - enabling me to let go of some somatic patterns held within my body, releasing some long standing physical pain.
Each of these teachings are more than a credential, they are paths I’ve walked myself. These modalities have supported me through trauma, loss, transformation, and healing. They’ve helped me release old patterns and soften into the present. They’ve allowed me to understand and shift my beliefs while creating a space for more joy, ease, and alignment. They’ve deepened my connection with and honed my true north to Spirit as my guide. That’s why I trust them to help you, because I know they work, they are tried, tested and true.
What I Believe:
That healing isn’t soft, still, sterile, linear, or one-size-fits-all. It’s messy, wild, beautiful, intuitive, raw, deeply personal and most of all it is sacred.
I’ve laid on the floor, cracked wide open, unsure if I could keep going, feeling like my life no longer fits, truly surrendering to God, and I’ve come through the other side. I know what it’s like to feel disconnected from yourself, your body, or your purpose wondering if peace will ever return. I also know the magic of reconnecting to yourself, of feeling your life force move again, of breathing easier, of realizing you were never broken to begin with, of whistling again after years of silence, or of seeing a real smile on your face in a photo after years of grief and sorrow.
I believe every pain holds a gift.
Every wound carries wisdom.
That each challenge is a karmic invitation toward awakening, knowledge and wisdom.
You are meant to grow. To love, to evolve. To live fully and freely in resilience.
Beyond the Work:
When I am not holding space for clients, I’m happiest when my hands are in the soil or when I am breathing fresh air.
I’m a gardener, a nature lover, and a devoted wife with a silly, loveable dog named Izzy. We spend our time exploring the land, eating from our garden, and laughing at the small joys of everyday life. I love to travel, try new food, experience different cultures, and meet kind hearted souls along the way.
Being a steward of the Earth is a role I embrace wholeheartedly and that includes giving back. A portion of Compass of Compassion’s revenue, as well as free sessions and workshops, are donated to local community healing initiatives. Healing is meant to ripple outward.
